TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enrol in American, Canadian and other English accepting universities.
TOEFL tests students’ usage and the understanding of English as per university standards. TOEFL is recognized by more than 11,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States.
Educational Testing Services is the conducting body of the TOEFL test and is responsible for setting the questions.
There are two formats for the TOEFL test-
IBT - Internet Based Test
PBT - Paper Based Test
TOEFL IBT test is preferred. Examination centres that do not have Internet access offer the Paper-based Test (PBT).

TOEFL Stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language
High school or equivalent to appear for TOEFL
TOEFL score is accepted in universities spread across 150 countries including the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada.
This score is calculated on a scale of 0-120. 0 being Minimum and 120 being the maximum marks.
There are no limits for the maximum number of attempts in TOEFL.
Registration fee for TOEFL from India is $185.
